I first set out to make a web page about 4 years ago (1995). The main goal was to learn HTML and the best way to do that was to have a project to work on. The nice thing about the web is that virtually all of the documentation is available on-line so you don't need to run out and buy "making a web site for dumbies" book.

I started by downloading several programs that are supposed to make a web page for you. I played around with several of these but quickly came to the conclusion that learning HTML and hand coding is the way to go.

Over the years I've updated the page from time to time, mainly when I was either bored or had the desire to implement a new technology or trick I had learned. The latest trick I wanted to learn was Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).

Some previous things I had worked on were interefacing with a backend database (The Humor Base), and JavaScript (The Javascript Picture Database).
